How we work together

Each project is taken on individually. The right service depends on where you are – whether you’re starting from bare ground, inheriting a space that needs rethinking, or simply wanting the planting to work harder. Projects are taken on in London, the Welsh Marches, and the countryside in between.

01 Full Scope

Comprehensive garden design

For gardens being made from the ground up

A complete service for gardens being created from scratch, fully reimagined, or designed alongside a renovation or new build. This is for clients who want every decision – from the layout’s underlying structure to the last plant at the border’s edge – to have been properly considered.

We work closely with you, and with your architect or builder where relevant, to produce a garden that feels like a natural extension of your home. Suitable for sites with outdoor kitchens, water features, or possibly even pools, or courts where coordination with other contractors matters from the outset.

Well suited to

Blank canvas sites · Building and renovation projects · Clients who want a considered outdoor space from the outset

What´s included
A site visit and an in-depth conversation about how you live and how you want the space to work
A mood board and concept layout plan showing the overall look, feel and structure of the garden
Direct liaison with your architect or contractor, where relevant

Detailed drawings your landscaper can build from with confidence

Guidance on materials – paving, paths, walls, and built structures

A full planting plan, with plants chosen to work across every season

Optional: indoor plant curation to carry the design through into the home

02 Design Concept

Garden design concept

A clear direction for gardens you´ll bring to life in your own time

For clients who want a properly considered design vision without the full suite of technical documentation. This service works well for gardens on level ground with a straightforward layout – spaces where the design thinking matters more than complex construction coordination. The result is a design you can use as a clear brief for a contractor when the moment is right, or take forward gradually, at your own pace. Rather than drawings built for a builder’s tender pack, you leave with a vivid, resolved picture of what your garden could become.

Well suited to

Level, regularly shaped gardens  ·  Clients who want clarity before committing to construction  ·  Those who prefer to work at their own pace

What´s included

A site visit and relaxed conversation about how you use and want to use your garden

A mood board and concept layout plan showing the overall look, feel and shape of the garden: a clear picture of what the garden could become, rather than a technical drawing set

Guidance on surfaces and boundaries – paving, paths, and fencing

Optional: a full planting plan, with plants chosen to look good across every season

Optional: indoor plant curation to carry the design through into the home

03 Planting only

Planting design

For gardens where the bones are right but the planting isn´t

For gardens where the structure is already in place – but the planting feels unresolved, disconnected, or simply not doing enough.

We begin with an in-depth site visit: walking the garden together, talking through what is and isn’t working, and building a clear picture of how you want it to feel. From that I put together a full planting plan with a visual reference for the plants being used – so you can see how they sit together before anything goes in the ground. You’ll know not just what to plant, but where, why it works, and when to expect it at its best.

Well suited to

Established gardens needing a rethink  ·  Clients who’ve inherited a space that doesn’t yet feel like theirs  ·  Gardens with good structure whose planting could work harder

Each season, I take on a limited number of projects –
each one gets the time it deserves.
